MISSION KASHMIR as the name suggests has probably got something to do with the terrorism that has captured the beautiful place Kashmir in the hands of the terrorists. Vidhu Vinod Chopra the director of movies of the kinds of Kareeb, Parinda, 1942 a love story et al has directed the movie with the same delicacy. Music as usual is an integral part of his movies. Though the music of this one does not match the likes of 1942 A Love Story, it is definetely a must buy for music buffs.

 
Altaf (played by Hrithik Roshan) is shown as a terrorist whose entire family is shot to death by Inayat Khan (Sanjay Dutt) who is only doing his duty as a Police Officer and commits this act in ignorance. Later Inayat Khan and his wife Nilima (Sonali Kulkarni a new comer into Hindi commercial movies) adopt altaf who suffices for the loss of their only child who earlier died in an accident. But very soon Altaf discovers the fact that Sanjay Dutt is the one who shot his family to death. This is where the movie actually starts....... What did u think ..??

Sofiya Pervez addressed as Sufi is played by Preeti Zinta - the " I am soo cute " bubbly girl who plays the role of a T.V. reporter. In the movie she seems to be obsessed by the song and dance of the song titled "Bhumro". She does not have much of role. There is of course this love story between Sufi and Altaf adding a bit of spice to the war story.  

 
Jackie Shroff plays the role of a terrorist leader trying to raise a team of terrorists for a Mision called Mission Kashmir other than this this movie has nothing to do with Mission Kashmir Moreover he irritates the audience with his typical " mera bachcha" dialogue appearing repeatedly. The music of the movie and the work done by the cinematographer are worth appreciating.

The locations and the movie sets are appreciated by the audience at large. But I still dont undeeratnd why it was called Mission Kashmir because and thing related to Kashmir and a terrorist war only comes in the last part of the movie for 20 to 25 mins when half the audience has walked off. The movie is more about the revenge of an orphan boy than about a mission to save Kashmir.
