	Importance of Festivals:

	Navratri means "nine nights", it is an ancient and colourful festival. It honours the Divine Shakti which supports the entire universe. She destroys the evil and grants boons to her children.

	Preparation for festival:

	Preparations are started few days before the festival begins. There is lot of happiness around and the atmosphere is filled with joy.


	Puja and festival process:

	This festival lasts for nine days. People dance and enjoy during the nights. People wear different kinds of "choli" and "ghaghara" and move in a circle with the music. People also do the famous "dadias-ras". It is played with a pair of sticks.They sing and play drumbs through out the night


	History:

	It is celebrated with true devotions in various temples dedicated to Mataji, as she is called.
