Servings : Approx. 8 People
Cooking Time : 20 minutes
Ingredients
  • Vanaspati ghee : 3 tbsps
  • Moong dal : 1 cup
  • Milk : 3 cups
  • Cardamom powder : 1/2 tsp
  • Nutmeg : 1/2 tsp
  • Almond : 3 tbsps (Optional)
  • Raisins (Optional)
  • Silver foil (Optional)

 

Procedure :
  1. Clean and soak dal for 1/2-1 hour.
  2. Fry the dal on a slow fire till the colour becomes golden.
  3. Add milk and cook on a slow fire, stirring continuously  till consistency of halwa is reached.
  4. Mix well and turn out on to a flat dish. Add fried almonds, raisins and cardamom. Stick on the silver foil.
Precaution : Care should be taken not to allow the halwa to turn brown.
